Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Newbury and Doncaster...
We start at Newbury in the 13:45 2m Juv Hrd where Ninepointsixthree has been strongly backed this morning, moving from [2.64 in to 2.08]. Although only modest on the flat he seems to have taken well to hurdling and massively outperformed his 66-1 odds when third at Warwick in a stronger race than this a week ago. If he can repeat that kind of run then he should go close again. The booking of Tony McCoy adds appeal and he definitely looks the one to beat.
We stay at Newbury for our next selection and our lay of the day. It comes in the 16:35 2m4f Hcap Chs where Bincombe has been on the drift this morning where his price has gone from 2.6813/8 out to 3.185/40. He showed some improvement in his hurdling form when scoring at Wincanton back in December, but has struggled to really kick on from that performance with two under par showings at Exeter and Ludlow in his most recent outings. This looks to be a tight race with the most obvious threat coming from Be Definite who always seems to be there or there abouts. This race may hinge on how well Bincombe jumps and with question marks over that skill he is well worth a lay here.
Our final selection of the day comes from Doncaster in the 17:25 2m3f Hcap Hrd where Grand Gigolo has had significant support this morning, being backed in from 11.010/1 in to 5.24/1. He is a fairly unexposed sort but has shown hints of ability in both bumpers and a trio of runs over hurdles. He remains open to improvement and should fare better in this sphere now he has switched to a handicap and taken a step up in trip.
