Today's Follow the Money selections comes from this afternoon's meeting at Kempton...
Firstly we take a look at the 13:30 Listed Race over 3m. Today's lay selection Ma Filleule has proved easy to back this morning drifting from 2.427/5 out to the current 2.8815/8. She won impressively over 2m 3f in a Grade 2 race back in February at Warwick and was second without truly challenging the winner in a listed race at Cheltenham over 2m 1f on her last outing. However we are happy to oppose her today due to the 3m trip being a step into the unknown and the fact that she faces the impressive Highland Retreat who showed last season that she happily stays the 3m when winning comfortably over the distance at Taunton in. On paper this looks to be a two horse race and the betting confirms this is likely to be a battle between these two with preference for Highland Retreat.
Moving on to the 15:10 over 2m 4f. In this Class 3 handicap we cannot see beyond market leader Royal Boy. The Nicky Henderson trained runner has seen heavy support this morning being backed from 2.265/4 in to the current available 1.84/5. The trainer has spoken publically of how highly he regards this horse and we believe on the form the selection will prove a class above today's rivals on his seasonal reappearance.
Finally we focus on the 15:40 2m Handicap hurdle. Selection Fourth Estate has proved popular with the punters this morning being backed from 5.69/2 in to the current 4.77/2. After an 18 month layoff the market support is a positive sign and if he builds on the promise of his last active campaign he should prove too strong for today's competitors. The 2011/2012 season produced two victories and a close fourth, in which he finished only two lengths behind the victor.
