At Sandown, Famous Name has drifted alarmingly in the betting, out to 3.3512/5 from 2.747/4, for the 14:20 1m Group 2.
Dermot Weld's admirable seven-year-old just held on to claim a Listed event this month at Leopardstown but more will be needed here and he has tended to come up short when tried at the top level. This race has typically gone to younger horses, no seven-year-old ever having won. Seventeen of the last 27 renewals were won by four-year-olds, so expect him to be vulnerable to one of his more sprightly rivals. The money has come for Richard Hannon's Dubawi Gold who can boast a Group 2 win, along with several decent Group 1 efforts, and he may take all the beating.

Up at Doncaster, in the 14:45, Dancing Welcome has been steadily supported in to 4.407/2 from 6.4011/2.
Milton Bradley's six-year-old mare has become better known for her exploits on the All-Weather but she took advantage of her lower turf rating to run a fine race, beaten a head into second a week ago at Bath. With a rise in the weights now imminent, connections will be eager to cash in while they can and this has not been lost on punters who clearly feel she is well capable of landing this modest prize; having displayed consistent from all year and just gone close off 1lb lower.

Staying at Doncaster for the final selection, Pearl Blue, backed down to 4.707/2 from 6.62 in the 17:00 5f Handicap.
Chris Wall's four-year-old filly was a multiple handicap winner last summer and shapes as though there is more to come. Although yet to win in this grade she scored a wide-margin success on Soft ground at Sandown and so is one of the few runners who will relish the desperate conditions up at Town Moor today. Earlier this month, she posted a creditable effort at Windsor from an awkward draw and that run will have shaken off any rust, leaving her primed for this contest.
