Two picks from Haydock today for the FTM team
Two picks from Haydock today for the FTM team

Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Haydock and Lingfield.

Recommended Bets:

Lay Baby Run at 3.1511/5 in the 12:50 at Haydock

Back Mick Dundee at 4.47/2 in the 14:05 at Lingfield

Back Bobcatbilly at 2.47/5 in the 15:05 at Haydock

We start with our lay of the day in the 12:50 at Haydock, where Baby Run has been on this drift this morning from a low of 2.568/5 out to a current price of 3.1511/5. This is the 13-year-old's second run of the season after a very impressive performance three weeks over the national course at Aintree, going down just a length to Chance Du Roy giving him 1lb. That run was his first for 959 days so it is quite staggering he was able to perform like that at his age first time out. He may well suffer from that run and may find this shorter trip of 2m 5f too fast today. The horse giving us the best chance to beat our lay is the Sue Smith-trained Gansey who has had some solid support. He has Haydock winning form over a two-and-a-half mile trip so he should find this race today right up his street, especially with his liking for the Soft/Heavy ground.

Next up we head to the 14:05 at Lingfield, where Mick Dundee has been heavily backed from 13.012/1 in to 4.47/2 favourite. The strong support for the John Ryan-trained horse seems to stem from him arriving today 8lbs lower than his last winning mark over a mile at this track. He drops to 7f today which could be a slight worry, but we have the man in form on board Adam Kirby who rode a four-timer at this track on Saturday. With such strong support we have to suggest a back.

Our second win selection is the Ian Williams-trained Bobcatbilly in the 15:05 at Haydock, who has been backed from 3.711/4 in to 2.47/5. There are two key reasons for optimism: AP McCoy is on board for the first time - interesting considering there is a Jonjo O'Neill runner in the race - while Bobcatbilly's win two runs ago bodes very well. In the race a Ludlow at the beginning of the month, he beat King Massini who has since gone onto win a very competitive Handicap at Cheltenham and comfortably win another Handicap at Ludlow. The only negative we can see with our selection has a slight ground worry, but with the strong support backers clearly believe this won't be an issue.
