Today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Chepstow, Leopardstown, and Southwell...
We start in the 13:55 Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow where Bristol De Mai has been very well supported this morning. Starting at 9.617/2, Nigel Twiston-Davies gelding is now available at around 5.85/1 and the support for this ex-French trained runner looks significant. He won a 2m2f contest at Auteuil in impressive style in September and in a race where the form of the other market principles all ties in with one another it may be worth taking a chance that this one, now switched to a top yard, can trump the lot.
Next we move to the 15:35 1m3f Handicap at Southwell where Hussar Ballad has been backed from a high of 7.413/2 in to around 4.47/2. Mel Brittain's 5-year-old gelding ran well last time out when beaten only 3¾L over an inadequate 9.5f at Wolverhampton and he should be suited by the step up in distance today. He was a 4L winner over 1m4f at this track last year and has also been successful over 1m2f at Newcastle earlier in the year and a return to the sort of form he showed on those occasions would give him every chance today.
Our lay of the day is Ballycasey who has been uneasy in the market for the 13:20 2m1f Grade 1 Chase at Leopardstown, drifting from 3.953/1 out to 4.94/1. The main reason for the drift is probably the steady confidence behind the favourite, Uxizandre, who looks the pick on form and should take all the beating if the front-running tactics work as well today as they did six weeks ago at Cheltenham.
