Today's Follow The Money selections come from Cheltenham and Haydock...
"The stiffer track and shorter distance may not be to Rum And Butter's liking so we suggest siding with the market and making this a lay."
We start in the 14:10 at Cheltenham where the champion jockey's mount Rum And Butter has been drifting in the market from 3.55/2 to 4.216/5. Although in good form of late all the other runners can make the same claim and our preference would be for the Nigel Twiston-Davies runner, Pure Science to possibly prevail. The stiffer track and shorter distance may not be to Rum And Butter's liking so we suggest siding with the market and making this a lay.
At Cheltenham in the 15:15 Captain Sunshine (6.611/2 in to 5.69/2) could be the one to shine brightest for the backers. Although not having raced since last march when he was second in the Pertemps Final, he only has a 3lb rise for that effort and this is offset by jockey Gavin Sheehan's claim. Emma Lavelle's horses are in excellent form at the moment so we expect the Captain to be appearing in good shape. He's a late finisher who enjoys a strong pace that should be present in this competitive handicap the only negative is that he can be a little temperamental to start but if he's in the mood then this could be a nice price winner.
In the 17:40 at Haydock Forced Family Fun won impressively at Ayr last week and now re-appears before his extra 2Ib penalty is imposed. This step up to 2 miles should suit as he won with plenty in hand at 1m5f in soft ground last time and is from a dam that won the Northumberland Plate. In the market he has strengthened from 5.24/1 in to 3.9 which indicates that Michael Bell's runner is poised to make it a quick double.
