Today's Follow The Money comes from Pontefract, Plumpton and Windsor...
We start at Pontefract for the 14:40 6f Maiden Stakes where Percy's Gal has been well supported in to 2.6613/8 from 4.1. Karen Tutty's filly travelled smoothly last time at Redcar and looked to have victory within her grasp before getting collared late on and losing out by a neck. That performance was a vast improvement on her debut effort and the drop down to 6f here might be perfect as half-sister Epiphany was a winner over this trip. If building on the promise shown so far she should have too much for these modest rivals.
Next up is Plumpton for the 2m4f Handicap Chase at 14:50, where Upton Mead has wandered out to 3.8514/5 from 3.211/5. Kevin Tork's six-year-old managed four victories earlier in the year but the last of those was in mid-April and has found the going tougher since. In May, he was twice beaten off today's mark in similar races and last time at Fontwell he showed nothing at all. Richard Johnson takes the ride and headgear is re-applied so he will probably run his race but looks a vulnerable favourite as a couple lower down the weights have been attracting market support.
Finally to Windsor, where Takeitfromalady has been backed dramatically in to 6.611/2 from an earlier 10.82 in the 16:30 1m2f Handicap. Lee Carter's gelding has been down the field on his last two starts but looks to have plenty in his favour this afternoon. His rating of 75 means he is 7lbs lower than his last winning mark, which was achieved at today's venue, one of two wins at Windsor. He can boast plenty of form in testing conditions including a win on heavy so if in the right mood he should be able to make his presence at a decent price in this wide open contest.
