The Follow The Money team bring us three selections from today's meetings at Southwell and Wolverhampton...
We start in the 15:30 at Southwell. Donald McCain's, Hollow Tree has not been seen for over nine months and has been a little lost since his Juvenile Hurdle success of 2011. His form seems to be going backwards and although this could be an opportunity to get competitive again the market seems to think that there are one or two with better claims today in the likes of Qoubilai and Gogeo. Having drifted from 2.6813/8 to 4.03/1 we are going to lay Hollow Tree.
In the 16:15 at Wolverhampton there has been market support for Arabian Heights, shortening to 8.415/2 from a high of 11.521/2. Having his third start for in form trainer Ian Williams he is back on the track where he has a course and distance win and having now dropped 15lb in the weights the market obviously feels he's off a competitive mark to possibly land this at a reasonable price.
Staying at Wolverhampton, the 17:45 is looking a fairly competitive handicap with a number of runners being backed including another of Ian Williams runners, Conroy. However we feel there could be more to come from Strong Man who ran well at Kempton last time from an unfavourable wide draw. He has a good rail draw today and off a fair mark could be the one to beat. The Easterby and Gibbons partnership have a 20% strike rate at Wolverhampton and with Strong man shortening on the exchange from 7.06/1 in to 4.47/2 were recommending a back.
Lay Hollow Tree @ 4.03/1 in the 15:30 at Southwell
Back Arabian Heights @ 8.415/2 in the 16:15 at Wolverhampton
Back Strong Man @ 4.47/2 in the 17:45 at Wolverhampton
