Today's Follow The Money comes from Hexham and Lingfield...
We begin with today's lay which comes in the novice hurdle at 13:20 at Hexham, where Chieftains Choice has been uneasy this morning, out to 2.245/4 from a price of 2.0421/20. He ran a promising race on debut over hurdles when second at Wetherby a few weeks ago. However he took a keen hold that day and will need to settle better in this afternoon's testing conditions. The market prefers the penalised It's High Time and so lay is the call.
Next up is the 6f handicap at Lingfield at 14:00, where Amadeus Wolfe Tone has been supported in to a price of 5.85/1 from an early 8.27/1. This 5yo is in rude health at present with 3 wins from his last 5 starts and last time he ran well to be fourth in a better race than this at Wolverhampton. His trainer Jamie Osborne has his string in fine fettle and Adam Kirby, who is 3-9 on the gelding, returns to the saddle today.
Staying at Lingfield for our final selection we turn to Lewamy, who makes his debut for Michael Bell in the first division of the 1m handicap at 14:30. Steady support this morning has seen his price tumble from 5.59/2 in to 3.8514/5. A 21-race maiden for John Best, he is perhaps not one for maximum faith but he has been gelded, wears first time cheekpieces and starts his career for a new yard off a basement mark. If he can find even a small amount of improvement then he will surely go close today.
