The markets have been reviewed and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Ayr and Pontefract...
Starting the day with a lay, Swift Approval has been friendless in the 13:40 at Ayr. Drifting all morning from a low of 2.77/4 he can now be backed at 3.65.
Getting off the mark last time out when making all at Musselburgh is a positive but prior to that run he finished a disappointing 6th when being sent off as the odds on favourite here at Ayr. In a tough looking race to pick the winner the money has come for Farham and Moonlightnavigator, the former being a costly purchase whose form on his sole run isn't working out too badly, with two winners already coming from that race, and the latter putting in a couple solid efforts in some decent looking Nurseries over his last two runs. The market drift is a worry and we are happy to take this one on as our lay.
Moving over to the 15:00 at Pontefract where we have a look at our first back, Fazza. Support has seen this one tumble from 6.86/1 in to 4.67/2.
This one seems to save all his best efforts for the Pontefract turf having won and placed in four of his six efforts over here. Last run out saw him fisnish a decent forth, which could have been more promising had he kicked on a bit sooner, but none the less was a promising run. He is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark which happened to be his last course and distance success here last year. Trainer Edwin Tuer has a 21% strike rate here and with all this said we are confident of a strong display from Fazza.
Lastly we go back over to Ayr where Almanack has seen support in the 16:10. Early prices of 8.615/2 have vanished and is now available to back at 5.24/1.
The Ian Williams-trained charge drops 7lbs from his last disappointing run at Lingfield, excuses can be made that he wasn't rode in his normal manner, but certainly looks to be a much better handicapped on the turf rather than the all-weather tracks. His last two runs on the turf has seen him finish second on both occasions when being held up at the rear before making a dart for the winning post. Jockey Graham Lee, who has one of the better records for jockeys at Ayr, looks to be a decent booking and he should put in a solid effort on this one. He looks well handicapped for this race and we're hoping he puts in a last to first display today.
