Ghost Train runs at Lingfield this afternoon

Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Warwick, Exeter and Lingfield...

"This five-year-old has been running consistently of late, beaten around a length on both his starts this year including when 2nd last time out at Kempton, and seems on a winnable mark having not been raised for that effort."

Back Ghost Train @ 4.1 in the 15:30 at Lingfield

We start at Warwick where Lost In Newyork is a positive in the 2m Handicap Hurdle at 14:40, now available to back at 5.49/2 from an early 8.07/1. This seven-year-old has been comfortably beaten on his last two starts, running from 15lbs out of the handicap at Leicester over Christmas before weakening in the heavy ground at today's venue a couple of weeks later. However he's dropped 2lbs in the handicap for that run and ground conditions will be more like the good to soft he won on at Leicester previously. With regular jockey Charlie Deutsch aboard in this hands and heels race and facing a weak field, the move suggests he can get back to winning ways.

We go to Exeter for today's negative where Flementime has proved easy to back in the 2m3f Handicap Hurdle at 14:50, now 4.67/2 having been as low as 3.39/4. This mare won on heavy ground last time out at Southwell, similar conditions to that she will face today, and is pitched in on a mark of 125 for her handicap debut. However she will have to give weight all round here and with rival Benefique Royale having usurped her as favourite, the drift suggests the task will be beyond her.

We go to Lingfield for our final selection in the shape of Ghost Train, who has been well-supported in the 6f Handicap at 15:30, now trading at 4.1 from an early 7.06/1. This five-year-old has been running consistently of late, beaten around a length on both his starts this year including when 2nd last time out at Kempton, and seems on a winnable mark having not been raised for that effort. Although he will need a good pace over this trip trainer and jockey have a 27% strike rate when teaming up at the course and the move suggests he can get his head in front.
