Our first selection and our lay of the day comes from the 14:00 2m juvenile hurdle at Uttoxeter, where Instinctual has been drifting from a low of 3.8514/5 out to a price of 5.24/1. A horse that always seems to be the bridesmaid since moving onto hurdling, he looks set to occupy that position once again today. Having yet to run on ground slower than good and with his main rival moving in the opposite direction in the market, this gelding looks like one to be opposed.

We're over to Brighton for our remaining selections. First up is from the 15:40 1m 2f Handicap, where Compton Bird has been flying in from 7.06/1 to a current 5.39/2. This filly will be looking to continue recent good form under jockey Joey Haynes, having won in style at the same course and distance just over a week ago. Despite carrying an extra 8lb, the market suggests that she is the one to beat here.

Our final pick for the day is in the 16:10 1m Handicap. Sword Of The Lord is continuing to pull clear in the betting, coming in from 2.166/5 in to a present 1.728/11. Everything points to him matching the recent impressive victory here over the same distance last week, when he travelled well before blitzing the field inside the final furlong. With a slightly weaker field than that last race, he looks extremely difficult to topple even with a 6lb penalty.
