The markets have been reviewed and today's Follow The Money selections all come from the action at Fakenham...
We begin today's column with our lay bet in the 13:40 2m Maiden Hurdle, where the Oliver Sherwood-trained Legend Lady has drifted from 1.84/5 to 2.0621/20. This four-year old has not been seen on a track since finishing sixth in the Mares Bumper at Aintree, a decent performance. But it may be a different game for her over hurdles and we feel that she is short enough in the market after 200 days without a run, so a lay is the call.
Our first back of the afternoon is Midnight Chorister who runs in the 14:40 2m Handicap Chase and has been backed from a high of 14.3 in to 10.09/1. The seven-year-old had his seasonal bow two weeks ago at Worcester and didn't put up much of a fight but whenever this horse has run well he has needed a run to freshen him up beforehand. The Alex Hales-trained runner has had one run at Fakenham so far in its career and it yielded a 17-length victory over the same distance. Back him for a repeat at a big price.
Our final selection of the day now is Road To Freedom, who has been backed off the boards in the 15:40 2m5f Handicap Chase, from backed from 4.94/1 into 2.9215/8. The Lucy Wadham-trained six-year old was last seen hacking up by 17 lengths in a Novice Hurdle at Stratford, in the process getting his head in front for the first time. He arrives today off a mark of 110 over fences and is 10lbs better off than his hurdle rating of 120 so a big positive. The trainer has also been in excellent form recently with two winners in the last eight days and a back bet at 2.9215/8 is suggested to end the day well.
