Recommended Bets

- Lay Girly Girl at 3.55 in the 14:00 @ Fakenham
- Back Beforeall Each way at 7.26/1 in the 14:30 @ Fakenham
- Back Barman at 2.915/8 in the 15:05 @ Fakenham

Our lay of the day comes from Fakenham in the 14:00 2m7f Novice Hurdle where Girly Girl has been on a steady drift from 2.942/1 out to 3.55.

With her best performances coming on good and good to soft ground, the soft ground today looks as if it will be against her. Looking to bounce back from her disappointing run last time out when finishing fifth when upped in class to listed company for the first time, a step down in trip seemingly should help today but punters are not so optimistic. Her strongest competitor in the market, the consistent Weststreet, who has won last time out on heavy ground should enjoy the going and gives us enough of realistic competition to lay Girly Girl in this Novice Hurdle.

We travel in time rather than distance for our each-way back of the day which comes in the 14:30 3m Handicap Chase where Beforeall has been heavily backed, in from as high as 17.016/1 in to just 7.26/1.

After disappointing results on his last two outings, nine months off may be exactly what this horse needed. Now returning to action at Fakenham where trainer Oliver Sherwood has a solid course strike rate of 23%, it may be time to find some of the form he showed us almost a year ago to the day when third at Sandown. In a seemingly open race, this hefty gamble looks significant and an each-way play looks a smart option on Beforeall.

We find our final back selection in the 15:05 2m Maiden Hurdle where Barman has been backed in from 4.3100/30 into 2.915/8.

With two wins from seven runs in French bumpers he has now joined Nicky Henderson's yard after being sold for 16,000 euros following the his last win at Durtal. This move alone is enough to warrant respect in this race today. Looking for his first win in the UK, starting out at Fakenham would seem like a solid place to start with Henderson having an extremely impressive 53% strike rate at the course. With a win last time out for Barman, the stable switch and the course form of the trainer at Fakenham, we feel Barman is well worth a back bet today.
