Lay Star of Rory @ 3.3512/5 in the 14:40 @ Epsom
Back The Happy Prince @ 3.211/5 in the 14:50 @ Curragh
Back That Is The Spirit @ 7.26/1 E/W in the 16:30 @ Curragh

We start the day with our lay, Star of Rory, having seen his odds drift from 2.915/8 out to 3.3512/5 for the 14:40 at Epsom. Beaten by Frankel's offspring Frankuus last time out in a listed race at Haydock, this one has not caught the punters' eye this afternoon, despite looking to be a bright prospect. The money has come for main market rival Medieval, out of the Paul Cole yard. Medieval was also a runner-up in a listed race last time out (at Deauville) and this looks a far easier task than his previous three assignments. Maiden winners Defoe and Max Zorin are obvious dangers having both got off the mark last time around and so we're happy to follow the market trend by taking on Star of Rory today.

The Happy Prince is our first back bet in the Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh (14:50). The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt has seen continuous support, moving his odds in from 3.45 to a currently-available 3.211/5. Last seen when second in a Group 2 contest at Doncaster, this 4yo will be hoping to finally get a Group success under his belt, with this event looking like the ideal opportunity. The soft going should suit, and having already disposed of two of today's market rivals, In Salutem and Flight Risk, in a lesser event at Navan three weeks ago, The Happy Prince looks the one to beat.

Staying at the Curragh, our final back bet is Tylery Wonder, having been clipped in from 8.07/1 in to 7.26/1, who takes aim in the 16:30. The 6yo gelding won this race last year and there's enough to suggest he can put in a decent display again this time around. Finishing second last time out for his new yard at Doncaster earlier in the month was promising and he enters today's contest 1lb better off than when successful last year. Pat Smullen, who steered him to victory 12 months ago, takes to the saddle again and given the competitive nature of the race we're happy to put this likeable sort up as our each way wager, especially with four places on offer.
