This afternoon's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Lingfield and Doncaster.
Firstly we head to Lingfield for today's negative in the 14:50 7f Maiden Stakes. The James Tate-trained Mukaabra has proved easy to back this morning drifting from 1.981/1 to 2.6413/8. This unraced three year old was withdrawn from a maiden race at Wolverhampton on Monday and although this race is weaker, his rival Merhoob ran well when down the field on his handicap debut at Kempton two weeks ago and has the benefit of plenty of racecourse experience to give the favourite a fright.
We then head north to Doncaster for today's positive in the 15:00 Handicap Hurdle over 3m. The Neil Mulholland-trained Fingerontheswitch has seen support this morning being backed in from 5.14/1 in to the currently trading 3.55/2. Mulholland has saddled three winners, four seconds and two thirds from sixteen runners over the past fortnight so his yard are very much in form. The six year old made a promising handicap debut in a hot race at Cheltenham in November and shaped as though he needed further. He is worth another chance now he has returned to a better surface, having previously shown a liking for faster ground earlier in his career.
Finally we remain at Doncaster for our each way selection in 15:30 Handicap Chase over 3m. Grandads Horse has been backed in from 14.013/1 in to 8.27/1 this morning. The Charlie Longsdon-trained ten year old beat Night In Milan over course and distance back in December 2014 and although lightly raced he has run well below that level since. He is another however who will appreciate the faster ground and hopefully he will be able to run in to a place should he recapture some of his previous ability.
Lay Mukaabra @ 2.6413/8 in the 14:50 at Lingfield
Back Fingerontheswitch @ 3.55/2 in the 15:00 at Doncaster
Back Grandads Horse each way @ 8.27/1 in the 15:30 at Doncaster
