Today's Follow The Money focuses on the action at Catterick and Chepstow.
"Michael's Mount has shown promise over today's distance prior to that and the soft going should suit."
We start with our negative which can be found in the 13:20 novice stakes at Catterick where Brian The Snail is now trading at 1.9310/11 having drifted from a price of 1.705/7. This Richard Fahey-trained two-year-old won on his debut last month at Pontefract. Whilst he justifies favouritism today after impressing with that run, the soft going will be an unknown, and that, combined with strong support for the Mark Johnston-trained Kiribati, means we are happy to oppose him.
We switch codes next up for our selection in the 13:30 maiden hurdle at Chepstow. We are recommending Rolling Dylan who has seen steady support into 3.211/5 from an early price of 4.57/2. After winning a bumper at Wincanton last year he has placed on his next three runs over hurdles. He certainly looks to have the strongest claims in this field, and with trainer Phillip Hobbs and jockey Richard Johnson having a useful 22% strike rate at the course, we think he is worth a back.
Finally it's back to Catterick for today's each-way back, where we are going to recommend Michael's Mount in the 16:00 handicap. The three-year-old gelding has seen huge support and is currently trading at 6.611/2 having touched 13.012/1. He did disappoint on his last run on the all-weather surface at Kempton, however he has shown promise over today's distance prior to that and the soft going should suit. Michael's Mount also has cheekpieces refitted today which can hopefully have a positive effect. All things considered we think he is in with a strong each-way claim in today's race.
Lay Brian The Snail @ 1.9310/11 in the 13:20 at Catterick
Back Rolling Dylan @ 3.211/5 in the 13:30 at Chepstow
Back Michael's Mount each way @ 6.611/2 in the 16:00 at Catterick
