Follow The Money: Cooking Fat proving to be a sizzling hot bet at Carlisle
The markets have been reviewed, and today's three Follow The Money selections come from the meetings at Carlisle and Ludlow...
We Start the day with a positive selection from Ludlow in the 15:45 2m Novices Hurdle where the money has poured in for Ascotdeux Nellerie, [3.25] in to [2.34]. An excellent winner of the newcomers National Hunt Flat race here in May winning by nine lengths under today's jockey David Bass, you can see why the punters are taking their chances. He is over hurdles today over the same 2m distance and if Kim Bailey's gelding's jumping holds out there should be no stopping this exciting prospect.
Over to Carlisle 15:25 now for a 2m1f Handicap Hurdle where Dianne Sayer`s Cooking Fat has been very well backed opening up at around [8.6] and now currently trading at [5.4]. He was winner of a juvenile hurdle at Catterick in December at a huge price off 66/1, holding on gamely for a well-deserved victory. He has been slightly disappointing finishing out of the frame for two runs since but showed plenty of ability last time on his handicap debut to finish second to an odds-on favourite. So a sizzling run is expected today from Cooking Fat.
Back to Ludlow for a 16:15 3m Handicap where the lay of the day Bultergrove King opened up at [2.78] and has drifted out to [3.25]. Recently joining the Dai Burchel yard from Natalie Lloyd-Beavis this inconsistent gelding managed to win his first start under rules last time out at Worcester. But with all the money coming for the Philip Hobbs trained Jayandbee this will be no easy task so we are laying Butlergrove King.
