Follow The Money: Rock looks a solid win bet at Wetherby

Two of today's bets run at Wetherby

Today's Follow The money selections come from the meetings at Bath and Wetherby.

"Shear Rock makes his chasing debut after impressing in handicap hurdles last year, winning once and placing on the other two occasions. Today he gets 7lbs from key market rival Ballybolley who was well-beaten when favourite on his most recent run, expect Shear Rock to bowl out in front and if getting into a rhythm he will be tough to peg back under Richard Johnson."

Back Shear Rock @ 3.814/5 in the 14:55 at Wetherby

Recommended Bets
Back Pale Enchantment each-way @ 7.413/2 in the 14:30 at Bath
Lay Return Flight @ 2.0621/20 in the 17:30 at Wetherby

We begin with our each-way selection which is Pale Enchantment who runs in the 14:30 at Bath and has been backed from 11.010/1 into 7.413/2. The Tom Dascombe-trained two-year-old has only had one run, an encouraging effort at Beverley when finishing a competitive fifth of 12 having been an unfancied 33/1 shot. He should come on plenty from that run, and with the odds-on favourite Kowaiyess disappointing last time out, Pale Enchantment looks as a good each way bet with just the nine runners and three places being offered.

Our back bet is Shear Rock in the 14:55 at Wetherby following strong support from 5.69/2 in to 3.814/5. The six-year-old makes his chasing debut after impressing in handicap hurdles last year, winning once and placing on the other two occasions. Today he gets 7lbs from key market rival Ballybolley who was well-beaten when favourite on his most recent run, expect Shear Rock to bowl out in front and if getting into a rhythm he will be tough to peg back under Richard Johnson.

Finally our lay bet is Return Flight in the 17:40 at Wetherby which has drifted from 1.75/7 out to 2.0621/20. The Kayf Tara-gelding arrives here after an impressive five length win at Southwell but a closer look into that race would suggest his main market principals failed to fire thus leaving the form questionable. He faces a much tougher task today taking on a competitive field including the likes of Nuts Well and Regulation. It'll be an impressive effort if the Dan Skelton-trained five-year-old wins this.
