The Follow The Money team start the racing week with two selections up at Ayr, and one on the all-weather at Wolverhampton this afternoon...
We start at Ayr with our lay bet of the day which is the drifting Las Tunas in the 15:15 Novice Handicap Chase. This horse benefited greatly at the weights with a narrow victory when he won last time out receiving at least 12lbs from all his opponents, all of which were exposed nine-year-olds. Today's race looks to be a different proposition completely and although he does receive weight this looks a much better contest. The market since reflected this and he has drifted from a low of 2.1011/10 to now be trading at 2.68/5 and we recommend laying him at his current price.
We move to the flat at Wolverhampton for out each-way bet of the day which is Bosham in the 15:55. This fiercely competitive handicap looks open on paper but it crucially could seriously lack pace which may benefit the front running Bosham who is a has a fantastic 50% record at Wolverhampton and an even more impressive 100% record over today's course and distance. The market has since caught onto this and he has been very well backed from a high of 17.016/1 to now be trading at just 10.09/1. We think he could get away from the field and be bang there at the finish.
Back to Ayr for the back bet of the day in the closing 17:15 bumper. A rare runner in the national hunt scene for trainer Mark Johnston. Golden Jeffrey made a very encouraging start to his career at Catterick when finishing third beaten under two lengths showing signs of inexperience. With normal progression and in a weaker looking race this looks an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Golden Jeffrey has since been backed from 2.546/4 to now be trading 2.245/4 and we think this could still prove to be a good price.
Lay Las Turnas in the 15:15 Ayr @ 2.608/5
Back Bosham each way in the 15:55 Wolver @ 10.09/1
Back Golden Jeffrey in the 17:15 Ayr @ 2.245/4
