We start the racing week with a trio of Follow The Money selections from the National Hunt meeting at Ayr...
For today's back we focus on the 15:05 Handicap Hurdle over 3m. Selection Ping has more than halved in price and is now trading at 6.05/1 from an early 14.5. On paper the trainer's other entry in the race St Gregory looks the more likely winner, having won last time out. However Ping comes into the race very competitively weighted and the weight of money looks significant.
Remaining at Ayr our each-way comes from the 16:10 Handicap Chase over 2m 4f. Selection So Satisfied has been one of the morning's main movers, backed all the way from 13.012/1 into 5.04/1. Dropped another 3lbs after a fairly uninspiring fourth last time out, this is a weaker race and with the insurance of your money back if finishing second at quarter the odds we feel he is worthy of an each-way bet in this six runner field.
Our negative comes from the last at Ayr, a 2m National Hunt Flat race. Selection Carry On Arcadio has been friendless in the market and has drifted all the way from 6.25/1 out to 11.521/2, and due to his price is advised as a place lay where he is available at 3.412/5. Unraced, the lack of market interest suggests today will not be his day and with a 15-runner field providing only the three place positions we're happy to take him on.
Back Ping @ 6.05/1 in the 15:05 Ayr
Back So Satisfied each-way @ 5.04/1 in the 16:10 Ayr
Place Lay Carry On Arcadio @ 3.412/5 in the 16:40 Ayr
