Today's movers all come from the Ayr Gold Cup meeting.
"On going he enjoys and reunited with winning Jockey Daniel Tudhope, That Is The Spirit looks a tempting bet today."
Starting the day with the negative in the 14:00 6f Group 3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes, where Bletchley has drifted out to 4.03/1 from a low of 3.259/4. This two-year-old by Makfi won on debut over 5f and since then she finished second in a Group 3 at Ascot, however, Ralph Beckett's filly was a beaten favourite on her most recent start in a Group 2 at Newmarket in July. Today's race sees plenty of unexposed sorts in opposition and the market drift suggests she worth taking on at 4.03/1.
The Ayr Gold Cup at 15:45 is where we find today's each-way back. Dual Listed winner Absolutely So , now trading at 16.015/1 having been as high as 34.033/1, is out looking for his first big handicap win after finishing a respectable fourth in the Wokingham Stakes over 6f at Ascot in June. Andrew Balding's six-year-old has previously won on today's good-to-soft going and with Jockey Rob Hornby claiming 3lb he's got a great each-way chance at 16.015/1.
We end with our straight back bet, which can be found in the 16:55 Class 3 7f Handicap, where That Is The Spirit has been strongly supported in to 5.49/2 from a high of 7.27. David O'Meara's gelding won four times in the first half of his career, including two Listed races, and also ran respectably in Group races. However, since his last win back in May 2015 this five-year-old by Invincible Spirit has been unplaced in eight starts. This has resulted in a handicap mark now 14lb lower than his last win and a drop into Class 3 level today. On going he enjoys and reunited with winning Jockey Daniel Tudhope, That Is The Spirit looks a tempting bet today.
