Today's Follow The Money movers come from Ayr and Leicester...
Today we start with Ayr's 15:05 6f Handicap, and there has been plenty of money for Bop It, now trading at [6.4] after previously being available at [10.5] and above. This gamble demands attention as the selection is back from a long absence having re-joined former trainer David O'Meara. The experienced seven year old showed what he is still capable of when landing a Haydock handicap last August before losing his way subsequently. But it's worth remembering he's also won off considerably higher marks than this one in the past. If not too rusty after his extended break then this gelding should be able to at least make his presence felt in an open-looking betting heat.
Moving on to Leicester now and in the 15:20 6f Selling Stakes Johnny B Goode has been well supported in to [3.3] from [3.95]. Richard Fahey's 4 year-old is turned out again quickly after being beaten at short odds at Catterick last Friday and looks capable of making amends today. The yard has been hugely profitable to follow at this venue over the last few years and the selection won a similar race to this earlier in the month. A reproduction of that form would most likely be enough at this lowly level.
Finally back at Ayr, Erik The Red has been easy to back in the 1m Handicap at 16:45, wandering out to a price of [3.05] from [2.64]. Kevin Ryan's useful four year old deserves his place at the top of the market after acquitting himself well in higher grade events at York and Haydock but may still have his work cut out here. The selection arguably should have won a valuable Chester race over this trip but was hampered at a crucial time before following that up with a creditable third at York, beaten only a length. That form sets the standard but the selection has gone up 4lbs without winning, and gives weight away all round to a competitive field so may be vulnerable to a better-handicapped rival this time.
