Recommended Bets

- Back Topofthegame @ 3.613/5 in the 13.15 Ascot
- Lay Most Celebrated @ 2.466/4 in the 13:30 Haydock
- Back Zac Brown Each-Way @ 7.26/1 in the 15:30 Lingfield

We begin with our back bet of the day, Topofthegame, which runs in the 13:15 2m 3f Novice Hurdle at Ascot. Ridden by up and coming 20-year-old jockey Sean Bowen, this Paul Nicholls inmate has always been held in high regard by Team Ditcheat and is expected to do the business today having been backed from 5.59/2 into 3.613/5. A course winner in December, was then stepped up into Grade 2 company at Cheltenham and performed with credit finishing fourth having travelled well into the race. Back down into a novice hurdle today this 5yo is expected to get his head in front at the Berkshire course.

Our lay bet is Most Celebrated which runs in the 13:30 1m 7f Juvenile Hurdle at Haydock. This son of 2008 Derby winner New Approach has been weak in the betting this morning having drifted from 2.245/4 out to 2.466/4. Punters do not have confidence that this Neil Mulholland juvenile can take the step up to class two company today having won his first race over hurdles at Wetherby in January. This uneasy favourite faces four unexposed rivals and Thistlecrack's jockey Tom Scudamore will have to be at his strongest this afternnon to get this Godolphin cast off home and justify his Triumph hurdle entry.

Our each-way bet of the day is Zac Brown, which runs in the feature race at Lingfield today the 15:30 6f Handicap. This likeable gelding has seen strong each way support having been backed from 11.010/1 into 7.26/1. Running off a handicap mark of 90, a rating the son of Kodiac has defied in the past, this 6yo has a great chance of finishing in the frame based on his latest run at Chelmsford where he was only beaten a neck. William Carson is back on board having won on this Charlie Wallis trained bay at Wolverhampton in January and each-way supports are expectant of a big run today.
