We start the day at Worcester in the 13.20 2m7f Novices Handicap Chase, where we find there has been strong support for Premier Portrait in to 9.08/1 from a high of 21.020/1. Kim Bailey's gelding started off his career in point to points in Ireland, winning a race over 3m, and won on his first start over hurdles at today's track a year ago. Since then this seven-year-old by Portrait Gallery hasn't been in great form, however the return to this track and the larger obstacles could mean a return to the winners' enclosure, with the market strongly suggesting this.

We find our negative at Taunton in the 13.40 3m Handicap Hurdle, where Dazzling Rita has drifted out to 4.1 from a low of 2.89/5. This eight-year-old mare has been a fairly consistent sort in her career so far, regularly finishing second, however it has taken over three years of racing to finally get her head in front, which she did at Stratford over 2m6½f earlier this month. Nigel Twiston-Davies's runner looks worth taking on today with a rise of 7lb and the longer trip looking to have stretched her too far in previous attempts.

Heading to Nottingham for our second positive in the 15.00 1m Maiden Stakes, where there has been noticeable support for newcomer Golden Horn in to 3.259/4 from a high of 9.617/2. John Gosden's two-year-old is a half-brother to 1m2f Listed winner Eastern Belle who is owned and trained by the same connections, and this colt by Cape Cross's unraced dam is a half-sister to Coronation stakes winner Rebecca Sharp. The horse with the best form in this race so far is Storm The Stars, who was second to Aloft at Newmarket earlier this month. This horse then came second to Elm Park in the Racing Post Trophy at the weekend. Given the strong market support and the connections' familiarity with the family, they look to be confident they have a top quality horse on their hands ready to impress on debut.
