Today's Follow The Money bets run at Clonmel and Ayr.
"A point-to-point win over 3m last March on very testing ground shows that today's conditions should pose no significant problems for Moonshine Lad."
We start in the Emerald Isle for our first positive where Moonshine Lad has been backed from 4.77/2 in to 3.65 in Clonmel's 14:45 Group 3 Novice hurdle. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding was narrowly beaten in a Group 2 by Willie Mullins' potentially Cheltenham-bound Sure Reef over 2m4f giving the latter 3lb. That form alone is positive enough, but a point-to-point win over 3m last March on very testing ground shows that today's conditions should pose no significant problems.
We switch to Ayr for our second positive mover. Heurtevent runs in the 15:20 and has been heavily supported 6.46 in to 3.953/1. The Tom Carroll-trained gelding was a very consistent hurdler/chaser in French but hasn't really cut the Dijon over here. However, he has been running in much better races than this and he's been sliding down the handicap. Dropping to class 5 today, the positive market move indicates a good run is expected.
We stay at Ayr for our drifter in the 15:50, Little Glenshee has been weak in the market, moving from 2.942/1 out to 3.55/2. Not the most fluent of jumpers she has fallen on her last two starts and punters may be thinking she will notch up an unfortunate hat-trick. However, even if she puts in a clear round there's some serious rivals to contend with, including the strong form represented by the Donald McCain's well backed Up and Go, and Rockawango, who had our lay well held at Carlisle back in November.
Back Moonshine Lad @ 3.65 in the 14:45 at Clonmel
Back Heurevent @ 3.953/1 in the 15:20 at Ayr
Lay Little Glenshee @ 3.55/2 in the 15:50 at Ayr
