Through The Card: Ffos Las, Thursday 13 September
Timeform take you through the card at Ffos Las on Thursday...
"She gets to run off her old mark of 58 (since raised 2lb) following her second at Newcastle last week and should prove too good for this field."
Timeform on Smashing Lass
14:15 - THE GROOVE (7) sets the standard on the form he's shown this summer in similar events and he may prove to be too good for a few younger rivals. They are headed by Face Like Thunder who won comprehensively at Thirsk last time out. Sod's Law may also improve on only his sixth start.
14:50 - SMASHING LASS (4) looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to win outside of selling company for the first time. She gets to run off her old mark of 58 (since raised 2lb) following her second at Newcastle last week and should prove too good for this field. Sesame is one to watch in the market after moving to a yard that works wonders with horses from other yards. Kenoughty may follow them home.
15:25 - NANANITA (1) was caught wide at Wolverhampton last time and showed promise to finish third. She showed in one of her maiden runs she handles turf too and she may have more improvement to come. Sylvia's Mother will be tough to beat in search of back to back wins. Maddfourmaggy may fill the places.
15:55 - GOOD BIRTHDAY (6) may be up to winning this on his debut, as his dam was a debut winner in Germany and his yard is very capable with these types. The market may dictate the ability of some of the other newcomers but Fenjal looks to hold strong claims for a yard that also does well in these events. Similar comments apply to George Junior.
16:30 - MURAAHIN (7) was a beaten favourite last time at Salisbury but he might have found conditions against him, and if the ground remains sound, he may be able to make amends for that defeat. Ghalia Al Thumama's York run is a bit of a standout but she'd go close if repeating it. Chrisellaine has a year's absence to overcome but she should progress from her win last year in time.
17:00 - SMOKEY LANE (2) has fallen to a very attractive mark on the pick of his career form and he should be able to improve on his recent C&D run on only his second start for Roger Charlton. Beyond Equal is having a great year and he was only just touched off by a progressive rival last time, so he should go close once again.
17:35 - LANDUE (3) is in tremendous form and should be able to follow up his C&D victory here earlier in the month. He gets to race off the same mark and will be hard to beat if in the same form. Stand Firm is an interesting handicap debutant who may improve for the step up in trip. Daily Trader may be worth an each-way interest.
