"...leaves the impression he has even more to offer, and makes a fair bit of appeal in what looks an open handicap..."

14:30 - This looks a match between SCORPION SID (2) and Oxwich Bay, with slight preference for the former, who made a promising start in this sphere when winning a novice by 15 lengths at Chepstow last month. He finished second on his only start in points, and admittedly the race he won last time wasn't the strongest, but he could have done it any easier and he is open to improvement now.

15:05 - The Jeremy Scott yard has hit form all of a sudden, and TWO HOOTS (4) was in the process of showing improved form when unseating his rider five out at Plumpton on Monday. He was strong in the market all day, going with zest and likely to have played a part in the finish had he completed, and should have even more to offer on just his third start over fences. Sutter's Mill also caught the eye last time and is similarly unexposed, but Two Hoots could have too much for that rival here and is just preferred.

15:35 - HOLDBACKTHERIVER (2) is less exposed than the majority of his rivals and could be the way to go in a trappy event. He is only progressing gradually at present, but even that is more than some of these, and his pedigree is an ongoing recommendation of even better to come, too. Princess Roania doesn't boast the best strike rate, but has some solid form to her name, and may prove the biggest danger.

16:10 - This looks competitive, but BEHIND TIME (9) is still improving over fences, and is worth siding with in his bid to record his first win in this sphere. He produced his best effort to date over two and a half miles at Wincanton last time, seeming suited by the sterner test of stamina, giving his best only to one who got first run on him in the straight, and the step up to three miles here should be right up his street. Behind Time leaves the impression he has even more to offer, and makes a fair bit of appeal in what looks an open handicap.

16:40 - Not an easy race to assess, but WAY OF THE WORLD (7) may be worth chancing. He is now 9 lb below his last winning mark and wasn't disgraced in first-time cheekpieces when third at Towcester recently, so has more going for him than most. The relatively lightly-raced Eaton Miller may yet do better, while Sounds of Italy should remain competitive from his lowly mark.

17:10 - WELLS DE LUNE (1) is a pretty uncomplicated ride in this sphere, and having found only a useful sort too strong at Bangor recently, is expected to successfully concede weight all round and land the odds. Bambi du Noyer has winning chase form to his name in France and has less to prove than Big Water and Deadly Sting, so is offered for forecast purposes.
