Timeform take you through the card at Ffos Las on Sunday.
"He is dropping markedly in class here and is fancied to take advantage..."
Timeform on Alfie Spinner
14:05 - LUCKOFTHEDRAW (1) showed much improved form to get off the mark over hurdles here last time, jumping much more fluently than on his debut and keeping on well to beat the useful runner-up by eight lengths. He could yet have more to offer after just two starts in this sphere and, with the step up to this trip also expected to suit, Luckofthedraw is fancied to see off the attentions of Oxwich Bay and can get us off to a winning start in the Placepot.
14:40 - LICKPENNY LARRY (5) made all the running with a bit in hand at Plumpton earlier this month and will take plenty of pegging back if getting an early lead again here, with a 5 lb rise in the weights more than fair. Vicenzo Mio may place yet again in second, leaving the inconsistent Spock as an option for third.
15:10 - ATLANTIC ROLLER (2) was well held when second at Fontwell last time, but he had been a comfortable winner of his penultimate outing at the same track and would appear to hold obvious claims at the weights if on a going day here, with the fine form of the Chris Gordon yard (three winners and three seconds from last 10 runners) offering some encouragement in that respect. Alf 'N' Dor and Stolberg complete the shortlist.
15:45 - ALFIE SPINNER (1) was a good second in the Welsh National in January - in the firing line throughout and going down all guns blazing - and wasn't disgraced when fifth in the Midlands equivalent at Uttoxter last time. He is dropping markedly in class for this fourth leg of the Placepot and is fancied to take advantage having won over this C&D two years ago, with Behind Time and Horatio Hornblower feared most.
16:20 - ROYAL CLARET (9) was value for extra when making her second handicap start a winning one at Hereford 19 days ago and, representing an in-form yard, she looks worth backing in her follow-up bid, despite being 1 lb out of the weights. Tambura is on a roll, while the market will reveal more regarding Kerisper and Garran City.
16:50 - CRUISING BYE (4) stepped up on the form of his stable debut when a half-length second at Bangor last month, closing all the way to the line though perhaps flattered by his proximity to the idling winner. He will relish the emphasis on stamina in what look likely to be extremely testing conditions here and is fancied to be thereabouts once again if keeping jumping errors to a minimum under Sean Bowen, having often made mistakes in the past.
17:20 - SMITHS CROSS (1) coped well with deep ground when an easy winner at Uttoxeter last month and is taken to make light of a penalty in the finale. Landofsmiles was a promising second on his Bangor debut and should go well again.
