Exeter looks the best option for the Placepot on Sunday.
"He is a chaser on looks and can take this before going on to better things for his in-form yard."
13:00- This is a tricky little event to start, but last year's winner Absolutely Bygones looks the most solid option. He had the benefit of a run when winning last year's race, and was 6 lbs lower in the weights, but he has performed well enough fresh in the past, and is a fairly-consistent horse at this modest level.
13:30- Key To The West is hard to catch right, but if he is on a going day, then he will probably have too much ability for the majority of the field here, so is worth including. De Faoithesdream went like a horse with plenty in hand when hitting the front in a warm Cheltenham race last time, only to finish nearly last eventually. He is worth another chance in a weaker event with that run under his belt.
14:00- There are a few promising chasing types in this race, none more so than Fletchers Flyer, who showed his aptitude for three miles when narrowly beaten in Grade 2 company last season over hurdles. He is a chaser on looks and can take this before going on to better things for his in-form yard.
14:30- Anda De Grissay was left clear at the last when getting off the mark at Fontwell last time, but the suspicion was that she was probably going best at the time anyway, and she looks a solid option for a place under her talented young claimer, who has an impressive record when riding for this yard.
15:00- Ikrapol's French form, where he made the frame twice in three-year-old events at Enghien, should stand him in good stead for this race, and he can make the frame once again, on debut for David Pipe.
15:30- The likes of Georgie Lad and St Dominick remain open to improvement here, but perhaps the most interesting runner is Dreams of Milan, on his first start for Peter Bowen after leaving Donald McCain. Dreams of Milan is potentially well treated on his old form, and is worth including along with Tarraco, who has claims of providing Venetia Williams with another reappearing winner.
