Merry to dance home
16:25 Doncaster - Merry Vale
Merry Vale should prove difficult to beat in this novice stakes.
This filly created a favourable impression on debut when finishing second to stablemate Litigious at Goodwood last month. She ran on really well inside the final furlong, and finished well clear of the third placed horse. The winner has since won again, and looks a nice prospect. I think she is open to significant improvement and is fairly priced at 3.02/1 on the exchange.
The Very Moon is the obvious danger and is trading at 2.26/5 on the exchange. This well related filly finished second to La Lune at Salisbury in May and looks sure to improve.
Ojooba to relish longer trip
20:30 Newmarket - Ojooba
Ojooba is my idea of the winner of this interesting contest.
This beautifully bred filly finished third to Clerisy on debut at the Craven meeting in April. She attracted significant support in the market, and stayed on nicely in the closing stages without threatening the winner. Her Dam Rumoush finished third in the Oaks and won the Fielden Stakes at HQ. I think she has a lot more to offer over this longer trip, and is attractively priced at 5.04/1 on the exchange.
Fabulist heads the market at 3.6553/20 on the exchange. She has been turned over the last twice at short odds, and is proving expensive to follow. Tough to find excuses for her, and have little interest in backing her at this price.
