Papa the boss
13:15 Doncaster - Papa Tango Charly
Papa Tango Charly should prove difficult to beat in this maiden hurdle.
This gelding finished second to the talented The Big Breakaway at Newbury last month. He was collared on the run to the last, but kept on well to hold on to the runner-up spot. He had previously finished an excellent second to Igor at Ascot, which reads well in the context of this race. This looks like the perfect opportunity for him to get off the mark over hurdles, and is fairly priced at 2.962/1 on the exchange.
Glynn just shades the market at 2.8815/8 on the exchange. He was an easy winner of an Irish point, and is in very capable hands. He is the obvious danger.
Cuban the value bet
14:25 Doncaster - Cuban Sun
I am going to take a chance with Cuban Sun in this interesting contest.
This filly caught the eye on hurdles debut when finishing second to Fantastic Ms Fox over this course last month. She displayed signs of inexperience in the closing stages, but kept on well. This was a promising effort, and should leave this form behind. I think she is open to a great deal of improvement, and will be backing her in both markets. At present she is trading at 9.89/1 in the win market and 2.486/4 in the place market.
Midnights' Gift is the favourite at 3.5551/20 on the exchange. She was easily brushed aside by Marie's Rock at Taunton last month, and has to concede weight all round. Way too short for me.
