Yarmouth Placepot: Tuesday September 16

Racing comes from Yarmouth on Tuesday

It's day one of the Eastern Festival at Yarmouth and we head there to try and scoop the Placepot...

"A slow start spoiled Kinasha’s chance at Ascot last time and he’s worth supporting to get back on track for the in-form Luca Cumani yard..."

14:30 - The first leg of today's perm is a fillies' maiden over six furlongs and Luna Mission is the first to keep on side. She made a bright start in a Kempton maiden over this trip earlier in the month and with improvement on the cards looks sure to run well. Deep Blue Sea was third in a C&D maiden last month and showed similar signs of promise, and is expected to take another step forward.

15:00 - It's the second division of leg one under consideration next and Queen's Pearl should be kept on side after her fine second at Brighton last time. She looks capable of improving to open her account, and another likely to progress is Illogical, who is bred to be useful and came fourth in a stronger contest than this at Newmarket on debut.

15:30 - A sole selection will suffice in the nursery over a mile which follows in the shape of Lady Moscou.  Although she has to shoulder top weight in this contest, she's shaped as if a step up in trip to this distance will suit her down to the ground and she's taken to capitalise and defy a mark of 82.

16:00 - It's fair to say the maiden which follows won't take a huge amount of winning and as a result Goodwood Storm is given one more chance to get off the mark after eight rolls of the dice. The pick of his form from those runs means he sets the standard, but because he's by no means a certainty another selection is required. First Embrace wasn't knocked about on her debut at Goodwood in May and given her pedigree and price tag, there should be more to come.

16:30 - It's time for another sole selection in a valuable 11-furlong handicap which comes next and given that a slow start spoiled Kinasha's chance at Ascot last time he's worth supporting to get back on track for the in-form Luca Cumani yard. He looks a typically steady improver and if things fall right for him today a bold bid is assured.

17:00 - The final leg of today's perm is a staying handicap over 14 furlongs and it will be another single runner to carry our hopes in the shape of Wannabe Your Man. He's managed a first and two seconds from three starts in handicap company and with only six career starts to his name, it would be no surprise to see new handler George Baker eke out some improvement.
