There's all-weather racing from Wolverhampton this afternoon and that's where we head for Monday's attempt at the Placepot...
Zac Brown looked an exciting sprinter when bolting up at Chelmsford, certainly one that should be followed closely, and a defeat at Southwell has done little to take away from that impression...
14:00- Royal Mizar may still be seeking his first win, but he looks fairly treated relative to today's rivals and comes here on the back of a good, close-up second at Lingfield last time. Royal Mizar proved his stamina for this trip at Lingfield and looks to hold solid credentials. It's also worth including Weybridge Light as, though he's also on a long losing run, he ran his best race for a while when finishing third last time and would be on the premises if reproducing that performance.
14:35- Amazing Blue Sky needs to prove as effective on this surface, but he looks to have plenty in his favour, not least the services of top amateur Serena Brotherton, and should finish in the first three. Amazing Blue Sky and Serena Brotherton combined to win at Southwell earlier this month, not needing to improve to prevail, and the partnership look likely to go well again from what is still a reasonable mark.
15:05- Goathland has shown shown obvious signs of promise on both starts and sets a fair standard. This increased emphasis on stamina ought to draw further improvement and he should prove difficult to beat. He looks banker material in the Placepot.
15:40- Walk Like A Giant represents a yard in fine form and he looks capable of winning from this kind of mark. He bounced back from a couple of lesser efforts when finishing runner-up at Chelmsford last time and would be a threat to all if building upon that performance. With three places on offer, we'll side with Mick Appleby's charge.
16:10- Zac Brown looked an exciting sprinter when bolting up at Chelmsford, certainly one that should be followed closely, and a defeat at Southwell has done little to take away from that impression. Zac Brown was poorly drawn at Southwell, while the taxing fibresand surface probably wasn't ideal either, and he can get firmly back on the right track under more suitable conditions. This is quite a competitive contest, though, so it's also worth adding Masamah to the permutation as he hails from a yard in good form, has slipped to a decent mark and put up a number of creditable efforts in defeat last season.
16:40- Bowberry has been dropped 2 lb for finishing a respectable fifth at Kempton last time, and she could prove difficult to catch against a host of rivals who have little to recommend them. Bowberry has looked no world-beater herself, but she comes here in better heart than most and looks likely to run her race. We'll also include The Blue Dog in the permutation as he is well treated on the best of his form, and has faced stiffer assignments than this in the past.

16:10- 1, 2
