Timeform's Matt Gardner tackles the Placepot at Wetherby, which passed an inspection earlier this morning...
"Real Milan made an encouraging reappearance and makes plenty of appeal in first-time cheekpieces, particularly has he may yet have more to offer over fences bearing in mind his hurdles form..."
12:20 - Rayak and Certification are the pair to concentrate on in the opening juvenile hurdle, the duo being closely matched on their running at Newbury last month. Both almost certainly have more to offer over hurdles but what may separate them is attitude; Certification tended to carry his head high and look hesitant on the Flat and it was the same story at Newbury on hurdling debut. Denis O'Regan is the right man to coax the talent out of him but preference is still for Rayak in the Placepot.
12:50 - Free World, a smart chaser at his best when with Paul Nicholls in 2009/10, has looked resurgent of late but it's difficult to place much faith in him, and the percentage call is to oppose him with both Sharney Sike and Kykate. The first mentioned made the perfect start over fences at Newcastle last month, deserving of plenty of credit for overcoming a less-than-fluent round of jumping, and it seems likely that he has more to offer. Kykate is probably handicapped to the hilt but ought to be sharper after her latest spin over C&D and seems likely to run her race.
13:20 - It's slightly disconcerting to see a tongue tie go on Over My Head for the first time so he is overlooked in favour of One In A Row and Adili. It's an eyecatching jockey booking on One In A Row, with Richard Johnson not having ridden for Alan Swinbank in the last five years, and the seven-year-old is clearly thought capable of better after attracting support in a Sedgefield handicap last time. He failed to improve that day but hasn't been with this yard for long and may yet be able to do so. Adili showed his first form over hurdles when winning over C&D last month; he probably didn't beat much that day and is 8 lb higher now, but is in good hands and it is hoped that he can continue in form.
13:55 - Real Milan made an encouraging reappearance and makes plenty of appeal in first-time cheekpieces, particularly has he may yet have more to offer over fences bearing in mind his hurdles form, but he isn't quite banker material so it's worth sticking in Rose Of The Moon, who shaped well enough in the Becher Chase on reappearance and has the assistance of a certain A. P. McCoy in the saddle.
14:30 - In similar fashion to the previous leg, Tiqris makes most appeal in this field, the form of his last two races appealing as being pretty strong, but the case isn't quite convincing enough to make him the sole selection. Our insurance policy will be Secrete Stream, who has made a promising start over hurdles in finishing second to Diamond King and then scoring, both over C&D. He has to carry a penalty but should have more to come.
15:05 - Mighty Mobb has to be respected after making a decent start over fences at Towcester last month, but The Magic Bishop hails from an in-form yard and is on an attractive mark. The nine-year-old has finished in the places on all three outings since returning from a summer break, and should go close to taking the win here.
