Wetherby passed a morning inspection and provides big-enough fields for the Placepot.
"Minella Bliss has found a rich vein of form this winter and comes here rated just 4 lb higher than when he was second last time to a horse that has since gone in again."
12:35 - The field behind Devilment has quite a bunched look to it, so the cheap-and-easy option of banking on the favourite in the first appeals as the most prudent.
13:05 - This isn't as bad as most 0-100s yet we're still going to have to take two if we look beyond favourite Casual Cavalier. Politbureau goes in first, having left the impression he's unexposed last time. Second in is Graphene, who represents an in-form yard that have plenty of previous in getting horses to take off in handicaps.
13:40 - This is difficult because so many are poor for the grade. There could well be a stroke pulled on Classinaglass as he's probably the best treated in the field if returning fit from a productive spell in the pointing field. Free World gets our second spot, being more consistent than most in this field even at the age of 11.
14:10 - This is a leg to play with a straight bat. Minella Bliss has found a rich vein of form this winter and comes here rated just 4 lb higher than when he was second last time to a horse that has since gone in again.
14:45 - This is a reasonable race of its type and a few of them are reliable enough for us to have faith. Fill The Power is first, placed from this mark on each of his last two starts, in a stronger race than this last time. Clondaw Knight also gets in, as one who's lightly raced and likely to be suited by the trip. He has more of a chance than the betting implies.
15:15 - Ozzy Thomas is our preferred option of the two that dominate the betting in the last. He had no chance against Tea For Two last time, improving for his new yard nonetheless, and as a result he runs here without a penalty.
