We head to day two of Newbury's Hennessy meeting for a chance to end the week with a profitable Placepot perm...
"Tea For Two looks an exciting prospect and is taken to continue his unbeaten record in this sphere..."
12:25 - We kick off proceedings with a juvenile hurdle over two miles and a single selection will suffice in the form of Karezak. His recent Chepstow win received a form boost when the runner-up landed a Grade 2 at Cheltenham's Open meeting and he is sure to run well.
12:55 - It's a handicap chase for conditional jockeys over an extended 18 furlongs under consideration next and the first to get the nod is Olympian Boy. He shaped well from a poor position when reappearing after a break at Ffos Las recently and looks extremely well treated. Quick Decisson has been placed on both his recent outings over fences and represents the irrepressible Philip Hobbs.
13:30 - The staying handicap hurdle which follows revolves to a large extent around Unique de Cotte. He won a similar event at Cheltenham off this mark a fortnight ago and is taken to run well again if in the same frame of mind. Tagrita was disappointing on her reappearance but is worth another chance now a tongue tie has been added, and looks capable of taking high rank in this sphere.
14:05 - The Grade 2 Novices Chase over two-and-a-half miles up next looks a fascinating contest, and another single selection will suffice in the shape of Saphir du Rheu. The fact he is pitched straight into Grade 2 company on his chasing debut is an indicator of how highly he is regarded, and with a clear round can win this on his way right to the top of the novice chasing sphere.
14:40 - A handicap chase over the same trip is under consideration now and Lamool is the first to make the cut. Although this represents his stiffest task to date he has proved highly progressive in recent outings and if he can shrug off another rise in the weights, he should be involved in the finish at the very least. The Paparazzi Kid is the other selection on a raid for the all-conquering Walsh and Mullins axis in the hope he is fit and firing.
15:15 - The final leg of today's perm is a novice hurdle over 21 furlongs and the horse to hopefully carry us to glory, providing the perm is still alive at this point, is Tea For Two. He looks an exciting prospect and is taken to continue his unbeaten record in this sphere, with the ground not likely to be a problem and his handler's excellent record with youngsters another positive.
