13:50- Just Five may not be particularly well treated, but he has a proven record of running well at Southwell and enters this contest on the back of a success here earlier in the month. He should once again give his running provided the drop down to seven furlongs doesn't prove to be an inconvenience. Mucky Molly is another horse that handles this surface and although she doesn't look especially well handicapped, she arrives here in good form and should give a good account.
14:20- In an attempt to save lines, we will take a bit of a chance and bank on the Hughie Morrison-trained Midaz. The trainer enjoys an excellent record at this venue - boasting a strike-rate of 30% with his three-year-olds - and there was plenty to like about Midaz' first effort where he gave the impression that he would benefit enormously from the experience.
14:50- Tamayuz Magic shaped well on his racecourse debut at Beverley, keeping on strongly late on having been outpaced over the minimum trip, and he should find this step up to six furlongs in his favour. He looks sure to produce an improved effort here and should be difficult to keep out of the first two in a weak-looking affair.
15:20- Plenty of these arrive out of form, but Ace of Spies has been in decent heart of late and is a three-time C&D winner. He usually gives his running around here and seems like the ideal type to include in the Placepot. Glan Lady probably isn't one to be too positive about given her overall profile, but it may be worth noting that she has won on fibresand before and hasn't been with the excellent Michael Appleby yard for long; it could be worth adding her to the 'pot'.
15:50- La Estrella is a force to be reckoned with on the all-weather, particularly at Southwell where he has notched up 13 course wins, and the 'King of The Fibresand' really ought to prove difficult to beat.
16:20- Quite a few Southwell specialists clash in the final leg of the Placepot, and we will side with Our Ivor and Caledonia Prince. The former was an emphatic winner here last time, registering a five-length success over seven furlongs, and a bold show looks to be on the cards. Caledonia Prince looks to be overpriced and could end up carrying relatively few lines for an in-form horse presented with ideal conditions.
13:50- 4, 5
15:20- 3, 13
16:20- 4, 9
= 8 lines
