Southwell Placepot: Tuesday November 25

Southwell host racing on Tuesday afternoon

There's all-weather racing from Southwell this afternoon and that's where we head for our Placepot attempt...

Uncle Brit has a good record at this venue and can be relied upon to give a decent account, so he represents banker material...

12:10- Company Secretary comes here on the back of a career-best effort on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton and, provided he proves as effective on fibresand, looks likely to give a good account. Company Secretary has a good chance on form and should be included in the permutation. We will also put the veteran Johnnie Skull into the mix as he is a multiple winner on this surface and has the assistance of Serena Brotherton in the saddle.

12:40- Uncle Brit ran well on his first start for Rebecca Menzies, putting up his best effort of the campaign by some way when finishing second at Ayr, and he looks well treated now having slipped in the weights prior to that performance. Uncle Brit has a good record at this venue and can be relied upon to give a decent account, so he represents banker material.

13:10- Lendal Bridge doesn't have the form to match Whispering Star or Wu Zetian, but he is effective on fibresand and put up his best effort yet when finishing third here over seven furlongs recently. He is likely to run respectably again and is worth including in the permutation. We will also add Whispering Star for a bit of insurance as, though he has run up a sequence of seconds, he has done little wrong and ought to be on the premises if handling the surface.

13:40- With five set to go to post, and two places on offer, we'll bank on C&D winner Spindle who sets the standard. Spindle was in good form when last seen on turf, chasing home a well-treated rival, and a return to fibresand can see him in a good light.

14:10- Invincible Wish is difficult to oppose having proven his effectiveness on this surface last time. Brian Ellison's charge sets the standard based on that effort and a repeat performance should ensure that he gets back to winning ways.

14:40- Galuppi has a good chance on his first start for his new yard, but he is unproven on the surface and, therefore, Master Dan is a much better Placepot proposition having produced his best effort on this surface. Master Dan showed that he's returned from a break in decent heart when running respectably to finish runner-up at Wolverhampton last time and has a good chance of registering a long-overdue success.

Recommendations:
12:10- 1, 2
12:40- 4
13:10- 4, 7
13:40- 1
14:10- 2
14:40- 3
