Timeform are on hand to give you their suggested perm to try and scoop Saturday's monster Scoop6 pot. It could be you!
"Havana Cooler must be kept on side given he was narrowly beaten by Van Percy at Goodwood last time who subsequently finished second in the Ebor..."
13:55 Ascot - This seven-furlong handicap with 18 runners looks about as tricky as it gets. The first to keep on side is Cornrow, who progressed well last year and picked up where he left off by making all here over a furlong further last month. The drop back in trip shouldn't be a problem and further improvement looks on the cards. The other to get the nod is Safety Check, who benefited from a return to this trip when winning a competitive contest at Goodwood in July before another huge effort over that C&D last time from a poor draw. He's clearly in fine form and another bold bid is expected.
14:05 Haydock - The first of three legs from Sprint Cup day at Haydock Park and Confessional is the one to make the cut for the opening sprint handicap over the minimum trip. He signalled he was ready to win another big contest when finishing a close third in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon last month and given he's won this race twice already before in 2010 and 2013 he looks to have peaked at the optimum moment to make it a hat-trick.
14:55 Kempton - It's a rare foray onto the polytrack for the Scoop6 as we consider the final of the London Mile series of handicaps. There are plenty who line up with live chances but Si Senor is three from three over today's C&D and barely broke a sweat when gaining his third victory some three weeks ago. He does have a 9 lb rise to contend with for that victory but there's no telling how much improvement he might be capable of. He remains competitively weighted off a mark of 88 and is taken to capitalise.
15:15 Haydock - The 2014 renewal of the Old Borough Cup over 14 furlongs looks as competitive as ever and as a result two make it into the perm. Havana Cooler must be kept on side given he was narrowly beaten by Van Percy at Goodwood last time who subsequently finished second in the Ebor. He has the services of Richard Hughes and he looks sure to go close off just a 3 lb higher mark. Hassle had a luckless run over C&D last time bidding for his fourth success so far this year and is another who looks primed for a big effort off an unchanged mark. A clear run should see him in the money at the very least.
15:30 Ascot - We return to Berkshire for the valuable Bristol handicap for thee-year-olds over a mile-and-a-half and there are plenty of progressive contenders as you'd expect for a pot of this size. The one to carry our hopes is Astronereus, who arguably should have won over C&D last month and was just denied by Our Gabrial. He deserves extra credit for getting so close having chased a strong pace and if the race pans out better this time he has the requisite scope to capitalise off a 5 lb higher mark.
15:50 Haydock - The final leg of Saturday's Scoop6 sees us step into Group 1 company for the first time in a while to take in the Sprint Cup, and another sole selection will suffice in the shape of Sole Power. Plenty have voiced their concerns over his ability to stay the extra furlong but he finished strongly on his most recent try over this trip in Hong Kong in December and he is the classiest horse in the race by some way. With Hughes back on board providing he is over his Nunthorpe exertions he is more than capable of routing the field and adding a fifth Group 1 to his already stellar record.
