Sandown hosts the first card of it's two-day meeting on Friday

We head to Esher in search of a profitable end to the working week by scooping the Placepot...

"Savant, who caught the eye in an above-average maiden at Kempton on his qualifying run, looks sure to make an impact in this sphere and can’t be ignored..."

14:00 - It's a five-furlong nursery under consideration first and a sole selection will suffice in the shape of Majestic Hero, who didn't disgrace himself in a red-hot nursery at York last week with the return to six furlongs and soft going today both likely to suit.

14:30 - It's a handicap over the same distance under consideration next and Indian Tinker's claims are hard to ignore. He's in top form currently, is a C&D winner and will handle today's ground so looks sure to run well. Beach Rhythm is the other to keep on side with the hope that front-running tactics are employed again, as plenty will struggle to pass him in the likely conditions.

15:00 - Given that Time Test gave a good indication as to why he holds some lofty entries when narrowly denied at Newbury on debut, he is the first to get the nod in the seven-furlong maiden which follows. This looks an excellent opportunity for him to get off the mark with that experience in his locker. Carnival King is another who showed plenty on debut at Windsor and should progress to make the frame once again.

15:35 - There are plenty of nice types on show in the handicap over a mile up next and the first to make the cut is Basem. He's a brother to top-class performer Farhh and won the Wood Ditton at Newmarket well on debut. He shouldn't have any problem with the ground and looks the one to beat. Beach Bar chased home subsequent Silver Bowl winner Chatez on his return at Epsom and won at Haydock last time, and can continue his run of good form here.

16:10 - A sole selection will carry our hopes in the seven-furlong fillies maiden which comes next and Childesplay is the one to keep on side. She struggled on polytrack last time but her Newbury debut represents solid maiden form and she's taken to back that up with a decent performance here.

16:45 - The final leg of today's perm is a ten-furlong handicap and Savant, who caught the eye in an above-average maiden at Kempton on his qualifying run, looks sure to make an impact in this sphere and can't be ignored on his debut in this company. Dance of Heroes is well-bred and landed a Lingfield maiden in march; there should be a lot more to come after just three career starts and it would be no surprise to see him put up a bold bid.

Selections:

14:00 - 5
14:30 - 3,6
15:00 - 1,11
15:35 - 2,3
16:10 - 2
16:45 - 1,4
