We return to Redcar for a second crack at the Placepot on Tuesday...
"More Beau has shaped with plenty of promise in a trio of maidens and looks to hold excellent claims to making a winning debut in handicap company..."
14:20 - We kick off proceedings with a six-furlong maiden and given that Richard Fahey has been firing home two-year-old winners on a regular basis, Flatcapper gets the nod to make a winning debut. Obviously a market check would be prudent but he is the sole selection to get us off to a decent start.
14:50 - It's a seven furlong seller under consideration next and although Cape of Hope didn't really get going for David O'Meara, he should more than enough class to win a contest at this level and it's hoped that the switch to David Nicholls will spark a revival. The other to get the nod is Bond Club, who had the first selection behind him when second at Thirsk last time and looks sure to go well again.
15:20 - The nine-furlong handicap which follows should have Hussar Ballad involved in the finish given the way he went through the race at Haydock last Friday. He shaped as if that trip would be ideal for him and provided he has recovered from his exertions he should run well. The other to get the nod is Kindlelight Storm, who looks to hold strong claims if he's able to translate his all-weather form to turf.
15:50 - It's a ten-furlong maiden up next and if Lamorak can build on his recent Windsor debut when he shaped with real promise, this looks an excellent chance to go one better. The other to keep on side looks to be Whitby High Light, who will find this task a lot easier than the Chester handicap he ran in last time and is expected to get a lot closer as a result.
16:20 - A sole selection will suffice in the five-furlong handicap which follows and the horse to carry our hopes is Avon Breeze, who only just failed to cash in on off her reduced mark over C&D recently and looks a threat if turning up in the same mood.
16:50 - The final leg of today's perm is a six-furlong handicap and it looks a competitive contest. More Beau has shaped with plenty of promise in a trio of maidens and looks to hold excellent claims to making a winning debut in handicap company and is definitely one to keep on side, as is Tell Me When. She was much improved on her seasonal reappearance when second over C&D here and if she's come on for the run she should be in the thick of it once again.
