Wolverhampton Placepot: Monday December 15

Racing comes from Wolverhampton on Monday

We head to Wolverhampton in our attempt to start the week with a profitable Placepot perm...

"Counterproofrepresents powerful connections and did well to finish third when hampered over this C&D a month ago..."

13:55 - We kick off proceedings with an amateur riders' handicap over an extended 9 furlongs and the first to get the nod is Pivotman. He's been revived by the application of blinkers in recent weeks and should run well again after a narrow defeat here last time. Tilstarr is the other to make the cut on the back of a short layoff, as he his most recent form has proved admirably consistent.

14:30 - It's the second division of leg one under consideration next and the first to keep on side looks to be Tight Lipped. He starts out for Julia Fielden from a career-low mark and if fit and firing is sure to be involved in the finish. Fujin Dancer is 4 lb lower than when successful in this race last year and has shown enough over hurdles in recent months to suggest he can't be ignored either.

15:05 - A sole selection will suffice in the seller over a mile-and-a-half which follows in the shape of La Estrella, who is difficult to oppose on his tapeta debut having proved such a prolific performer in the past.

15:40 - It will be another single horse to carry our hope in the 13-furlong handicap which comes next in the hat-trick seeking Topaling. Although several others also arrive in top form, the selection won impressively over C&D last time and is lightly raced enough to suggest there is a good deal more to come.

16:10 - The claimer which comes over an extended mile now also only merits one pick, and providing we are still on track at this stage it is hoped Missandei can keep things moving. Although she has her quirks this looks a good opportunity for her to get off the mark and she is capable of taking advantage.

16:40 - The final leg of today's perm is a maiden over an extended nine furlongs and Counterproof, who represents powerful connections and did well to finish third when hampered over this C&D a month ago, is the first to get the nod. Whitchurch is another who overcame trouble to run well last time and representing an in-form Andrew Balding should also be kept on side.

Recommended Perm:

13:55 - 2,3
14:30 - 2,3
15:05 - 2
15:40 - 9
16:10 - 4
16:40 - 4,9
