14:20 - Leg one is a maiden in which we can take either one of Macbeth or Long Lunch, confident that both will make the places. Narrow preference is for Macbeth, who has the benefit of a run over hurdles to his name already and has plenty of soft-ground form from his Flat days in Ireland.
14:50 - There are seldom quick fixes in a given 0-95, and this is no exception. Osmosia is a clear first choice, her second-placed finish on her most recent start over fences the best form on offer here. Upton Mead isn't normally one for maximum faith, but he'd been consistent earlier in the summer and can be forgiven a pretty subdued return from a break last time in the context of this race.
15:20 - Nemo Spirit clearly catches the eye on his first start for Jim Best, but at the time of writing there has been no clear indication that new connections are anticipating instant improvement. Meirig's Dream looks a much more solid option following two second-placed finishes in the spring. He's not been long with the Philip Hobbs yard, which generally has its horses fitter than most at this time of year. With market vibes positive this morning, bank on Meirig's Dream.
15:50 - The withdrawal of Kings Lodge leaves us with four, and with all of them having some sort of chance the only realistic option is to take them all.
16:20 - There are a few options in this handicap hurdle, but doubts follow in the cases of Koultas King (doubtful stamina) and Ballyculla (stiff mark). So Cannon Fodder becomes our best option. She's been mixing it in handicaps from her current mark to good effect, and perhaps has some more to reveal over this trip- she certainly saw it out perfectly well last time. Given the lines we've had to part with in leg four, Cannon Fodder can go in alone.
16:50 - We're going to bank in the final leg as well, albeit with one you wouldn't instantly take to be a natural Placepot choice. Next Sensation has never been closer than 16 lengths to the winner across his six starts under Rules. Before that, though, he'd been an Irish point winner, and his greatest encouragement in this country has come over fences. Following what appeared to be a sharpener over hurdles last month, Next Sensation will presumably be ready to go back over fences and has only a modest mark to contend with.
