Market Rasen hosts a fairly strong Sunday card and gets Timeform's attention for the Placepot.

"Close Touch comes with some risks attached, lightly raced and well beaten last time, though there are excuses for Haydock and he’s by far the most able in this field."

13:35 - On form only Huff And Puff can really match Our Kaempfer and that one comes with doubts of his own, off another three months following a laboured reappearance on ground admittedly softer than might be ideal. Therefore Our Kaempfer has to go in.

14:05 - Grimley Girl is the only one in this field both proven to be reliable and likely to take the lead. For that reason, she's the selection. Normally we might look to back her up, this being a seven-runner race with a few unexposed, but bigger challenges lie ahead so Grimley Girl is a banker.

14:40 - We can excuse an ordinary run when it's in something like the Boylesports at Leopardstown and for that reason Kashmir Peak remains one to be interested in for the Placepot. Raktiman is another consistent sort, lack of stamina the reason for the only blemish on his record this season, so he is a good support option.

15:10 - Close Touch comes with some risks attached, lightly raced and well beaten last time, though there are excuses for Haydock and he's by far the most able in this field. With all the alternatives being expensive, banking on him makes most sense.

15:45 - Silver Vogue is the best place to start, knocking on the door of late and making a promising start over fences last time. With him being so solid we can afford to leave out potential favourite Ergo Sum for our second spot and take Ready Token instead, that one ready to make an impact now having been patiently handled through the winter up to now.

16:15 - It makes things easier to have a banker in the last and Benefit In Kind looks to provide that here. A record of two falls from four starts over fences is hardly inspiring, but his overall jumping suggests it's down to bad luck more than anything and he's bound to be thereabouts if getting round safely this time.

Selections:
13:35 - 7
14:05 - 4
14:40 - 1, 6
15:10 - 1
15:45 - 4, 7
16:15 - 4
