Friday's attempt at the Placepot comes from Lingfield
Friday's attempt at the Placepot comes from Lingfield

Timeform provide you with a Placepot permutation from Lingfield on Friday...

Global Explorer has improved since going handicapping and he looked slightly unfortunate here last time, finishing well for third having been held up in rear...

13:00- Mr David is the pick at these weights but his inconsistent profile is a concern for Placepot purposes and it could, instead, pay to side with the Lee Carter-trained pair of Kuanyao and Seek The Fair Land. Kuanyao was a C&D winner for Dandy Nicholls and made the perfect start for this trainer when winning here two weeks ago. He was undoubtedly disappointing last week, running no sort of race, but he is the type of horse that ought to bounce back quickly. Seek The Fair Land has been running creditably of late, often hitting the frame, and has the benefit of an excellent 5 lb claimer in Louis Steward.

13:30- The booking of Luke Morris on Waving is eyecatching to say the least, and we will include Tony Carroll's runner who warmed up for this with an encouraging performance from a wide draw over an inadequate trip on Wednesday. He looks interesting from this sort of mark and at this distance. It is also worth including Hail Tiberius for a bit of insurance, though, as he also ran well over an inadequate trip last time and promises to stay this easy two miles.

14:00- Global Explorer has improved since going handicapping and he looked slightly unfortunate here last time, finishing well for third having been held up in rear. The step up to six furlongs could be a positive on that evidence and he remains open to improvement, particularly as his yard's runners are in such good form.

14:35- Seamster has shaped well in defeat on his two most recent outings, beaten by a gambled-on winner at Kempton last time, and he should launch a bold bid in his current form. His wide draw is a slight concern, though, so it could be worth adding Fantasy Invader who has dropped to a tempting mark and is interesting starting out for Gary Moore.

15:10-The well-bred and expensively-purchased Mbahli should be suited by the step up to ten furlongs and is difficult to oppose. Mbahli showed obvious signs of greenness when fifth on debut at Wolverhampton, but he stepped up on that effort when runner-up here last time and he can go one better this afternoon for the in-form Mark Johnston yard.

15:45- We side with a Mark Johnston-trained runner once again as we bank on Swivel. The three-year-old colt is going the right way at present, showing improved form on each start, and he looks bound to appreciate this ten-furlong trip given his pedigree. Swivel still looked a bit rough around the edges at Southwell, despite winning, and he remains open to improvement.

Selections:
13:00- 4, 5
13:30- 1, 5
14:05- 6
14:35- 7, 8
15:10- 6
15:45- 2
