We head to Leicester to try and scoop the Placepot and get the working week off to a profitable start...
"Smart Daisy K has relatively low mileage for a sprinter and arrives on the back of a career best effort at Bath last time..."
14:00 - We kick off proceedings with a six-furlong fillies' nursery and it's hard to ignore Renaissant after her pillar-to-post victory at Brighton. The second that day has won subsequently and despite shouldering top-weight here she looks on a fair mark and should run well. Magic Mac is the other to keep on side after scoring fairly easily at Chepstow 11 days ago. A 10 lb rise may not be enough to stop her here, and she looks rapidly progressive.
14:30 - A sole selection will suffice in the maiden over an extended 11 furlongs which follows in the shape of Moshe, who took a step forward when runner-up in a C&D handicap three weeks ago. The winner has subsequently won again and he looks an excellent option to give his running.
15:00 - It will be another single horse to carry our hopes in the six-furlong novice stakes which comes under consideration next, and Charming Thought is the one to get the nod. He's well bred, cost £625,000 as a yearling and built on his debut second at Nottingham to win easily at Lingfield 19 days ago. He's destined for better things and can progress past his rivals here.
15:30 -The seven-furlong maiden which comes next represents a welcome drop in class for a number of slightly frustrating performers. The first of these to make the cut is Zain Zone, who although has been a little expensive to follow recently, really should be up to winning at this level given the pick of his form. Milly's Secret is another who will appreciate the return to calmer waters and if she can regain the thread which saw her win a Hamilton handicap at the end of 2013 she will be right in the mix.
16:00 - It's a sprint handicap over five furlongs up next and it's of a better quality than the field size would suggest. Smart Daisy K has relatively low mileage for a sprinter and arrives on the back of a career best effort at Bath last time. She remains unexposed and certainly has more to offer, as does Milly's Gift. She's had more racing but it maybe the return to the minimum trip is the key to unlocking her significant potential, and if you forgive her run at Ascot last time she looks to have a strong chance on form.
16:30 - Providing the perm is still alive at this stage we must once again pin our hopes on a single runner in this ten-furlong claimer. Run Fat Lass Run landed a couple of handicaps at a mile earlier in the summer and on her first start for Conor Dore arrives with her stamina proven, which is more than can be said for most of the opposing field.
