There's evening racing from Kempton on Wednesday

Timeform's Placepot on Wednesday comes from the occasionally-excellent meeting at Kempton.

"The three at the top of the betting should dominate this maiden. Van Dyke is narrowly the best choice ahead of Gregarious..."

16:25 - Tyrsal has enjoyed a good run since stepping up to this sort of trip, including a C&D win last time. Pair him with If I Were A Boy, a fiarly consistent mare who has placed over this trip at Chelmsford on each of her last two starts.

16:55 - There remains a concern that Weld Al Khawaneej won't show his true colours until trying a mile or further, though his best over seven furlongs might be good enough here and, even if that just means staying on into a place, it will be good enough for us.

17:25 - As the only runner with any sort of racecourse experience, Manson is where we begin and end our search. It helps that few of the debutants entered against him have huge amounts going for them.

17:55 - Conversely to the first division, a debutant (Amanaat) has more going for him than any with experience. It's a close call with recent Lingfield third Enreaching, however, so that one gets in the perm.

18:25 - The three at the top of the betting should dominate this maiden. Van Dyke is narrowly the best choice ahead of Gregarious, given his encouraging debut came over this C&D.

18:55 - It's rare you'll see a listed race as strong as this one, with the vast majority of the field rated as smart on Timeform's scale. We're going with a risky banker, Very Special likely to have won at this level last time but for being ridden too forcefully. She can make amends in receipt of her allowance.

Selections:
16:25 - 12, 14
16:55 - 6
17:25 - 6
17:55 - 3
