Kempton stage an all-weather meeting this evening and that's where we head for Wednesday's attempt at the Placepot...
16:35- Henry Grace had little chance up against a couple of unexposed rivals the last twice, but he ran well to finish second on both occasions and this looks a good opportunity to secure a deserved win. Henry Grace's improvement has coincided with the fitting of blinkers, and, with the headgear fitted again, he can be relied upon to give his running.
17:10- Franco's Secret and Bosstime dead-heated at Lingfield recently but the former did well to share the spoils having been poorly positioned to launch his challenge, and makes greater appeal here. Franco's Secret finished to great effect, running right up to his best, and there could still be a bit more to come, bearing in mind his relatively-unexposed profile. We will also include Presumido as he showed improved form to win over C&D last month and is unexposed at this sort of trip.
17:40- Thomas Blossom justified strong support in good fashion when sauntering to success at Wolverhampton recently and he will take the world of beating if in similar form. He looks well treated under a penalty and should be able to complete the hat-trick with the minimum of fuss.
18:10- Hill of Dreams is well worth including as she produced a career-best effort to win here on her latest start, seeing her race out stronger than is sometimes the case, and she can usually be relied upon to give a good account at this venue. We will also turn to A Legacy of Love as she ran creditably when finishing third behind Hill of Dreams, and a first-time hood could well draw out a bit of extra improvement.
18:40- Hawkesbury has plenty of ability and ought to win, though he has shown definite signs of temperament and can't be relied upon. He makes the permutation by virtue of possessing the best form and appealing as the most likely winner, but we won't risk banking on Godolphin's challenger. The progressive Field Game looks the best alternative as his win at Catterick represents useful form, and the step up to six furlongs shouldn't pose a problem.
19:10- Barwah failed to follow up her win at this venue when narrowly losing out at Wolverhampton, but she shaped as if she's up to defying higher marks, and she should be able to bounce back here. Barwah looked sure to collect prior to hanging left, giving a chance to one played late, and charting a more direct route can see her return to the winners' enclosure.
