We head to Kempton's all-weather meeting this evening for Tuesday's attempt at the Placepot...
17:30- With the standard-setting Dusty Blue now a non-runner we will bank on Lady Cecil's Sharissima as she showed plenty of promise despite displaying obvious signs of greenness when finishing third on debut and ought to do better here. With improvement forthcoming, it is difficult to imagine Sharissima not involved in the finish and she can see us through to the second leg.
18:00- Baltic Fire clearly isn't one to put maximum faith in, still a long-standing maiden, but, prior to a disappointing effort last time, he has been generally consistent and is probably on a fair mark. He is joined in the permutation by Eugenic as he ran one of his better races when proving his effectiveness on polytrack last time, and should go close if in the same form.
18:30- Abigails Angel is on a long losing run at present but has performed with enough credit of late to make her of interest from a Placepot perspective, her latest third at Wolverhampton offering further proof that she is holding her form well this term. We will also include Ferryview Place as he bounced back to form when putting up a respectable effort to finish fifth at Wolverhampton last time and has been largely consistent this season, something that doesn't apply to many in this field.
19:00- With just four set to go to post this is potentially trappy, but Yodelling - winner of a four-runner minor event here on debut - should prove too good. Yodelling produced an extremely encouraging performance on debut to beat a couple of rivals with experience, coasting to the front on the bridle, and she looks an exciting prospect.
19:30- Market support for the William Haggas-trained debutant Osaruveetil would be interesting but, from a Placepot perspective, the safest option is just sticking with Panatella who sets the standard based on her latest second over C&D. Panatella was no match for the winner on that occasion, unlucky to bump into such a useful prospect, but she pulled well clear of the remainder and ought to put up a bold bid.
20:00- Cosmic Halo is in good form at present having won at York in September before following it up with in-frame efforts at Pontefract and Nottingham, and she looks the type to carry on giving a good account. She fared best of those held up at Nottingham last time, possibly deserving of extra credit, and should finish on the premises. We will also include Rising Breeze as he returned to form with an encouraging performance at Wolverhampton, keeping on well close home, suggesting that a bigger effort could be on the cards.
